Peter Jones Foundation Charity Golf Day 2015

30/09/2015

Peter Jones CBE hosted our Charity Golf Day 2015 at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club yesterday.

The successful entrepreneur, who launched the Foundation in 2005 to give young people the opportunity of a top career business, was joined by guests from across the business and entertainment worlds.

After 18 holes in the beautiful sunshine, pop stars Brian McFadden, Danny Jones, of McFly, and X-Factor’s Luke Friend performed an impromptu acoustic set.

Ex-Olympic swimmer Mark Foster and McFly drummer Harry Judd were also in attendance, showing their support for the Peter Jones Foundation.

The total amount raised was an incredible £45,000.

Speaking at the event, Peter said: “Today was another fantastic fundraiser for the Peter Jones Foundation and I’d like to thank everyone for coming. The generosity of our guests and sponsors on occasions like these allows the charity to continue building a brighter future for the next generation.

“This year is a very special one for us as it’s our tenth anniversary. It’s been an incredibly successful decade and we’re looking forward to the next one.”

Following the golf, attendees enjoyed a three-course lunch before taking part in live and silent charity auctions.

The live auction lots up for grabs included a bundle of the latest gadgets, an exclusive Dragons’ Den experience and a weekend behind the wheel of a Rolls-Royce.

The silent lots included a two-night spa break on Lake Como, a Harley Davidson experience and a selection of artworks donated by antiques expert and television presenter Jonty Hearnden, who hosted the auction.

An exclusive set of Aston Martin golf clubs was also raffled off.

Peter Jones Foundation CEO Alice Barnard said: “Today was absolutely brilliant. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we raised a fantastic amount of money for the foundation.

“We really can’t thank our kind guests and sponsors enough – the funds will help us on our mission to promote enterprise education in the UK and continue to improve the standard of its delivery.”

The Peter Jones Foundation runs the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy and the national business competition Tycoon in Schools. It recently developed the Peter Jones Enterprise School Award

The day’s sponsors were: TaylorMade, Totally Golf, Wine Rack (Perrier Jouët), Sequre Property Investment, Red Letter Days and EXPANSYS.
