Sophie had been working at Grant Thornton for the past few years before she was offered a place on the Level 5 Apprenticeship in Business Innovation and Growth. She was delighted to be chosen for the programme, said yes immediately, and can’t wait to get stuck in within the next month.
After leaving school aged 16, Sophie worked as an estate agent for five years, as well as achieving her City & Guilds qualifications for Maths and English. It was when Sophie was working as a PA that she felt she wanted a new challenge – she was subsequently head hunted by Grant Thornton, which came at the perfect time.
Sophie’s new role as part of her apprenticeship has been tailored specifically to her, where she will be given the opportunity to co-ordinate events as part of the national communications team. Sophie is convinced that she will be equipped with innovative skills and ways of thinking and is delighted to continue working in events and also get more involved in the business side at Grant Thornton.
In addition to her formal role, Sophie is also very involved in lots of Grant Thornton’s charity work and has also been asked to be a trustee for a mental health charity.
