Peter Jones Foundation and Odin Announces Winners of the Tycoon London Final
The Peter Jones Foundation (PJF) is proud to announce the winners of the first‑ever Tycoon London Competition Final, celebrating the most outstanding KS5 student‑led businesses from London‑based schools participating in the Foundation’s Tycoon Programme. The new competition was launched through the generous support of Odin Partnership.
The final brought together seven student enterprises, carefully selected from schools across the capital. Finalists were chosen based on four key criteria: business viability, learning journey, creativity and originality, and entrepreneurial flair.
Hosted by Francis Holland School, Sloane Square, the event featured a Tycoon marketplace where students showcased their businesses, followed by a series of presentations. The judging panel included Bill Muirhead, Managing Director at PJF; Omar Davis, Founder and CEO of Odin Partnership; Joy Senyo, Managing Partner at Nomad Capital Advisors; and Genevieve Guilbert, Founder of Genuity Designs.
Bill Muirhead, Managing Director at PJF commented:
“The Tycoon London Competition brought together students from a wide range of backgrounds and the entrepreneurship, creative flair and business acumen demonstrated by all this year’s finalists was truly inspiring to see. Hats off to all the students and teachers involved and to Odin Partnership for their support.”
Omar Davis, Founder and CEO at Odin added:
“We are thrilled to have been part of the inaugural edition of the Tycoon London Competition and were thoroughly impressed with both the wide variety of businesses on display and the creativity, diligence and professionalism with which the students approached all aspects of the process throughout the competition. We hope to see the competition continue to grow from its strong foundations in the years to come.”
Competition Winners
Overall Winners: Neighbourly, Greig City Academy
Neighbourly impressed the judges with how they pivoted from running an innovative platform designed to connect residents within their local community to an enterprise offering social media marketing services for small businesses. The team secured three local clients and demonstrated both community impact and commercial potential. It was for this reason the team won the Tycoon London Competition and will be invited to the PJF’s Awards Ceremony hosted by Peter Jones CBE later this year.
Most Profitable Business: AP Baked It, Westminster City School
AP Baked It generated high profits through the sale of personalised tray bakes and cookies. Their disciplined approach of leveraging customer feedback and digital marketing enabled them to grow a loyal customer base and reinvest into their business.
Best Presentation: Pinnit, Francis Holland School, Sloane Square
Pinnit sold vintage‑style clothing pins, found in thrift and charity stops, which allowed customers to accessorise their outfits and promote sustainable fashion. Their polished pitch highlighted strong digital marketing strategies, thoughtful pricing, and creative approach to sourcing products. Judges also felt the Pinnit team handled their questioning very well.
Overall Runners‑Up and Best Market Stall: Mula Meu, Francis Holland School, Regent’s Park
Mula Meu produced beautifully decorated glass bottles and reusable straws, donating part of their profits to WWF. Their focus on unique designs, budgeting discipline, and resilience in managing supplier challenges earned them dual recognition.
Special Recognition
Kew The Mystery, Kew House School
This team capitalised on the mystery‑box trend by selling curated boxes containing gadgets and toys to fellow students. Their ability to identify and leverage a popular trend demonstrated strong market awareness.
Tidy Up, St Joseph’s College
Tidy Up designed a 2‑in‑1 stationery holder and worked closely as a team throughout product development. Despite making a small loss, judges were impressed by their creativity, perseverance, and commitment to learning.
Simply Wrapped, Trinity School
